Biden Will Veto SAVE Act: Bill to Prevent Noncitizens From Voting

“It should alarm every American citizen that the sitting President of the United States, who has opened our border to over 9 million illegals, just announced that he would veto our bill to prevent noncitizens from voting.” ~ Speaker Mike Johnson on X

EXECUTIVE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT
OFFICE OF MANAGEMENT AND BUDGET
WASHINGTON, D.C. 20503

July 8, 2024
(House Rules)

STATEMENT OF ADMINISTRATION POLICY
H.R. 8281 โ€“ Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act
(Rep. Roy, R-TX, and 104 cosponsors)

The Administration strongly opposes H.R. 8281, the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act. It is already illegal for noncitizens to vote in Federal electionsโ€”it is a Federal crime punishable by prison and fines. The alleged justification for this bill is based on easily disproven falsehoods. Additionally, making a false claim of citizenship or unlawfully voting in an election is punishable by removal from the United States and a permanent bar to admission. States already have effective safeguards in place to verify votersโ€™ eligibility and maintain the accuracy of voter rolls. This bill would do nothing to safeguard our elections, but it would make it much harder for all eligible Americans to register to vote and increase the risk that eligible voters are purged from voter rolls. The evidence is clear that the current laws to prevent noncitizen voting are working as intendedโ€”it is extraordinarily rare for noncitizens to break the law by voting in Federal elections.

The President has been clear: he will continue fighting to protect Americansโ€™ sacred right to vote in free, fair, and secure elections, including by calling on Congress to pass the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the Freedom to Vote Act. If House Republicans really want to do something about securing our border and fixing our broken immigration system, they should vote on the border deal that the President negotiated with a bipartisan group of Senatorsโ€”this would provide immigration officials the resources they need to do their jobs and be the toughest and fairest set of reforms to secure the border that we have seen in decades.

Republicans must pass the Save Act, or go home and cry yourself to sleep. Non citizen Illegal Migrants are getting the right to vote, being pushed by crooked Democrat Politicians who are not being stopped by an equally dishonest Justice Department. Our whole voting system is under siege. Harmeet and David, go to court and get this stopped, NOW. The Dems canโ€™t win on their policies, the only way they can win is to CHEAT. They do it at every level of government, and they do it well. Thatโ€™s how they get an incapacitated moron like Joe Biden elected. Get tough RNC (Michael W!), Speaker Johnson, and all State and Local Republican politicians. The Justice Department is CORRUPT and wonโ€™t do a thing to help. They have no shame! All I can say is that if Iโ€™m elected President, we will pursue Election Fraudsters at levels never seen before, and they will be sent to prison for long periods of time. We already know who you are. DONโ€™T DO IT! ZUCKERBUCKS, be careful! ~ Donald J. Trump on Truth Social
