In a second Trump administration, domestic policy will prioritize themes of deregulation, strict immigration controls, and an “America First” economic agenda, coupled with a push to reinstate or deepen cuts in federal oversight across various sectors, including environmental and financial regulations.
As per his publicly available platform, Trump will continue pushing for tax cuts that benefit corporations and higher-income brackets, reinforcing a free-market approach, which he frames as a path to national prosperity.
Domestically, social policies will see further conservative alignment, especially around contentious issues like abortion, LGBTQ+ rights, and educational content regulation, with the administration potentially aiming to reshape judicial precedents in these areas by appointing conservative judges to federal courts.
Internationally, the “America First” approach will likely translate to a continuation or even intensification of trade conflicts, particularly with China, through tariffs and other protective measures aimed at supporting American manufacturing.
Trump’s stance on NATO will involve pressuring allies to increase defense spending and continuing a pattern of transactional alliances, where the U.S. engages in selective commitments rather than multilateral coalitions.
Relations with traditional allies could face tension, with Trump’s administration favoring bilateral deals and scrutinizing partnerships that he perceives as disproportionate in cost to U.S. interests.
Trump will likely pressure authoritarian-leaning leaders too fall in line with the family of nations. In the past, he has accomplished this through rapport instead of threats, which could help shift the global balance, notably affecting U.S. alliances and potentially altering the weak status quo in international human rights and diplomatic “norms.”
Trump announced in his victory that he will keep the promises he made.
This means he will seal the border and stop the migrant invasion, and will carry out the largest deportation operation in American history.
On the economic front, he will end inflation, and “make America affordable again.”
Trump will also work toward making America a great energy producer.
He has expressed interest in putting a stop to outsourcing and instead turning America into a manufacturing behemoth.
He has advocated large tax cuts for workers, and no tax on tips, which will no doubt help millions of Americans.
Trump also said he would fight to “defend our constitution, our bill of rights, and our fundamental freedoms, including freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and the right to keep and bear arms.”
He aims to “prevent World War 3, restore peace in Europe and in the Middle East, and build a great Iron Dome missile defense shield over our entire country — all made in America.”
He has announced he will step up efforts to stop the migrant crime epidemic, demolish the foreign drug cartels, crush gang violence, and lock up violent offenders.
He has promised to “rebuild our cities, including Washington. D.C., making them safe, clean, and beautiful again.”
In contrast to the Democrats, Trump said he wants to strengthen and modernize our military, making it, without question, the strongest and most powerful in the world.
Countering the BRICS group of nations comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa among others, Trump said he wants to keep the U.S. dollar as the world’s reserve currency.
Trump said he will “fight for and protect social security and Medicare with no cuts, including no changes to the retirement age.”
Perhaps with Elon Musk’s help, Trump will cancel the electric vehicle mandate and cut costly and burdensome regulations.
He has promised to cut federal funding for any school pushing critical race theory, radical gender ideology, and other inappropriate racial, sexual, or political content on our children.
Trump has also vowed to keep men out of women’s sports.
Importantly, Trump has also vowed to deport pro-Hamas radicals and make our college campuses safe and patriotic again.
With the future of democracy at stake and the Democrats working to hamper the election process, Trump promised he would secure our elections, including same day voting, voter identification, paper ballots, and proof of citizenship.
With so much to do, let’s wish Mr. Trump good luck and hope he hits the ground running on his first day in office come January 20.
Congratulations Mr. President!
