Rush Limbaugh described what Project Veritas does as “getting them on video tape being who they are. Therefore, no explanation is required.”
President Donald Trump said, “He’s not controversial, he’s truthful.”
The Nation magazine wrote, “O’Keefe’s influence on voting rights opponents and legislators alike is particularly jarring.”
James O’Keefe is the founder and President of Project Veritas and Project Veritas Action, two non-profits dedicated to investigating corruption, dishonesty, waste and fraud in public institutions and the private sector.
In 2019, Project Veritas launched “Be Brave. Do Something.” The “Be Brave” campaign’s focus is to recruit insiders at organizations who will come forward to Project Veritas and choose to become vehicles of change, catalysts for citizen empowerment and have the will to inspire moral courage. People that have the character to join the army of heroes whose goal is to expose the corruption they are witnessing firsthand. Additionally, the “Be Brave” program’s mission is to inspire a new generation of undercover patriots to take action, become heroes who seek to uncover the truth, prevent social breakdown and become custodians of conscience. When they think “What can I do?” The answer is obvious, Be Brave. Do Something, Join Project Veritas.
O’Keefe and the Project Veritas team’s investigations have led directly to the passage of new legislation, federal and state investigations, congressional inquiries, the de-funding of taxpayer-funded groups and domestic terrorist arrests.
O’Keefe’s series of voter fraud exposés inspired several states to reform their election laws, forced resignations in Washington, and pushed FBI and Department of Justice officials to defend themselves before federal lawmakers.
Project Veritas’ 2009 ACORN investigation led to the group’s collapse. This expose’ led to James O’Keefe and his team being honored by 31 Congressmen who signed an honorary resolution that stated “O’Keefe was owed a debt of gratitude by the people of the United States for his role in the investigation in the fraudulent and illegal practices and misuse of taxpayer dollars by the Association of Community Organization for Reform Now.” (ACORN)
Other investigations the same year led to a Planned Parenthood Vice President to be fired, National Public Radio to be defunded by Congress, numerous NPR executives were fired, an Enroll America director to be fired and Congressional field hearings were initiated to investigate Obamacare navigator fraud.
Heading into the crucial fall elections of 2014, James O’Keefe founded Project Veritas Action, which launched investigations in four key Senate battleground states to expose the hypocrisy of candidates who were lying to the voters. All four Senate candidates lost at the ballot box.
During the 2016 election cycle, both Project Veritas and Project Veritas Action released videos exposing key Democrats not only admitting that voter fraud exists, but also showing how to successfully commit it on a massive scale. One result was that a New York City Democratic election commissioner was forced out of his position by Mayor de Blasio and the New York Assembly
In what is possibly the greatest achievement in Project Veritas’ history, O’Keefe and his team released videos exposing how the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton worked with consultants to organize paid protesters at Trump rallies, which sometimes erupted in violence. The investigation into Democracy Partners caused two key Democratic operatives to resign, sparked a response from the Obama White House, and caused Donald Trump to bring up the Project Veritas videos in the final presidential debate. O’Keefe and his team were credited with having a significant impact on the 2016 presidential elections for his October Surprise video series.
In 2017, O’Keefe’s Project Veritas investigations into CNN, became the #1 trending videos in the US. The hard-hitting investigation exposed CNN’s anti-Trump bias and raised serious questions about the news organization’s credibility. His team’s investigations into the DisruptJ20 movement led to the arrests of three individuals for conspiracy to commit assault at the National Press Club during the presidential inauguration. The Washington Post responded by printing “To O’Keefe, who for years has targeted liberal groups with undercover stings, the arrest validates his group and its controversial methods.”
In 2018, O’Keefe promised to investigate the deep state, releasing undercover videos within multiple government agencies such as the DOJ, DOS, GAO, and HHS. This video series resulted in responses from each and every agency, the removal of multiple government bureaucrats from their positions, and produced a reaction from Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Fox News.
On the campaign trail in 2018, the Project Veritas team kept up the investigative pressure in U.S. Senate races across the country, helping retire incumbent Senators in Missouri, North Dakota and Indiana. Undercover journalists captured one candidate admitting that she had “a bunch of Republican voters” at home, but the she and Obama “essentially have the same views,” and the “people just can’t know that.” As a result of their work, Project Veritas has been credited with helping maintain the conservative balance of power in the U.S. Senate.
In response to Project Veritas’ challenge to Be Brave. Do Something., insiders from Pinterest, Google, Twitter and Facebook came forward to blow the whistle, resulting in an exposé showing Facebook’s “Deboosting” strategy. In the weeks following, A Pinterest software engineer provided explosive evidence to the actions Pinterest was taking in censoring Pro-Life content from LiveAction. Google engineers revealed Google’s not so hidden agenda in “Algorithmic fairness”, news blacklists, and “human raters” and provided the Department of Justice with over 950 pages of leaked documents. Project Veritas’ Twitter investigation exposed the tech giant’s little-known practice of banning someone’s content without their knowledge. This report introduced the term “shadowbanning” to the public lexicon.
The culmination of these successes resulted in O’Keefe attending a White House Social Media Summit on behalf of the Project Veritas team. At the summit, President Donald Trump called on James to stand up so that others could recognize him and thanked him personally for his work. President Trump remarked, “Somebody said he’s controversial. He’s not controversial, he’s truthful! He’s truthful! That was a great job. That was one of many, thank you very much.”.
