Journalist Says Mass Migration Paves Way for Abolishing Nations

An agreement on migration adopted by the United Nations six years ago redefined immigration โ€˜from a privilege to a right,โ€™ said Alex Newman.

A new wave of global mass migration has the potential to loosen the bonds that unite people as a nation, with individual countries gradually losing their national identities, American journalist and Epoch Times contributor Alex Newman says.

This creates favorable conditions for global institutions to consolidate power and ultimately assume the role of a global government, Mr. Newman said told EpochTVโ€™s โ€œCrossroadsโ€œ in a recent interview.

One of the objectives of mass migration is โ€œto undermine national homogeneity,โ€ Mr. Newman said, citing late United Nations migration chief Peter Sutherland. โ€œThey want to create multicultural societies, whereby people have very little in common with each other.โ€

Peter Sutherland, known as the โ€œfather of globalization,โ€œ told the United Kingdomโ€™s Parliament in 2012 that the European Union should โ€undermineโ€ the homogeneity of its states and become more open to immigrants, according to the BBC.

Mr. Sutherland also said in an internal interview at the UN in 2015, while he was still the UN migration chief, that the governments should cooperate and recognize โ€œthat sovereignty is an illusionโ€ and โ€œthe days of hiding behind borders and fences are long gone.โ€

Mr. Newman said that traditionally, the nation-state has been seen mostly as an extension of the family.

People of each nation had a lot in common, he said.

For example, in Europe, each nation shared a culture, language, and ethnicity, such as the Hungarians, Finns, Frenchmen, or Germans.

Even if nations conquered each other and several nations were governed as one big empire, they still retained their national identity, Mr. Newman said.

However, mass migration undermines โ€œthe nation-state itself,โ€ and this is done โ€œvery deliberately and very strategically,โ€ he asserted.

โ€œWeโ€™re watching this happen very rapidly in Europe,โ€ he said. โ€œI think Europe is the canary in the coal mine.โ€
