(Washington, D.C. September 18, 2024) — Today, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 7909, the Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act, by a vote of 266 to 158. The bill now heads to the Senate, bringing it one step closer to becoming law and protecting women across the nation.
“Today, we took a decisive step to protect women by passing the Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act,” said Representative Nancy Mace. “We are fed up with headlines about women losing their lives or becoming victims of assailants who trespassed into our country illegally under the Biden-Harris border crisis. This legislation sends a strong message: if you are an illegal who has committed acts of violence against women, you will not find sanctuary here.”
“The Biden-Harris border crisis has made daily life less safe for American women. They engineered this crisis, ignored efforts to solve it, and have refused to deport those who commit heinous crimes against American citizens,” said Speaker Johnson. “As crime by illegal aliens continues to rise, I commend Rep. Mace’s proactive leadership in ensuring the rule of law is followed. H.R. 7909 will keep America safe since the Biden-Harris Administration will not.”
“Due to the absolute failures of this administration, the safety of our women and children has been compromised, while illegal aliens roam free in our communities and commit heinous crimes against American citizens,” said Congressman Nehls (R-TX-22).“The Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act is simple. If you are an illegal alien who preys on our nation’s women and children, you are on notice. We will find you and you will be deported.”
“Over 10 million illegals have invaded our country since Kamala Harris was appointed Border Czar. Criminal illegal savages are sexually assaulting Americans at rates we’ve never seen before, said Congresswoman Boebert (R-CO-03). “ANY illegal who has been convicted of or admits to crimes outlined in the ‘Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act’ should be deemed inadmissible and deportable. Thank you to my colleague Congresswoman Mace for leading the charge to prevent and remove these illegals from our country.”
“When these monsters commit these ghastly acts and their grief-stricken moms appear before our committee, the Democrats put on their best long faces, assure everyone how much they grieve with the families, and then argue to continue precisely the same policies that have produced this nightmare in the first place,” said Congressman McClintock (R-CA-05). “H.R. 7909, the violence against women by illegal aliens act, removes any loopholes in current law and requires that illegal aliens who commit sex offenses or domestic violence are not to be allowed into this country anymore and must be immediatelyremoved from our country when they’re found.”
“The Biden-Harris administration’s war on women must come to an end. H.R. 5709 is one step toward addressing that. Removing people from because they’ve committed a sex offense or domestic violence offense should be something that evenopen border Democrats can agree with us on,” said Congresswoman Laurel Lee (R-FL-15).
H.R. 7909 aims to protect women and girls by ensuring illegal aliens convicted of sex offenses or domestic violence, or those who admit to such crimes, are deemed inadmissible to the U.S. It also called for the deportation of those convicted of a sex offense or conspiracy to commit such an offense. The bill now awaits further consideration in the Senate.
