Something Is Happening Here to U.S. Citizenship

The many benefits received by those entering the U.S. illegally, the failure of the government to punish violent crimes, and the attempts to eliminate proof of citizenship to vote, make a person wish for a Dear Abby-style advice column for those suffering from Political Traumatic Stress Disorder caused by an overdose of government disinformation.  It might be as simple as the “Dear George advice column.”

My letter to her might read:

Dear George:

I have been a citizen of the United States since birth in the middle of the last century.

Our Constitution tells me Americans have special rights the government cannot take away.

My friends, however, say American citizens no longer have any rights or, at the minimum, far fewer rights than in the last century.

You have helped millions understand the governmentโ€™s disinformation labyrinth. I would deeply appreciate your advice.

Sincerely,
Baffled

Dear Baffled:

Sadly, your friends are very correct in their advice on the federal government’s actions. Mr. Jefferson, the first Democrat elected president, clearly stated, โ€œ[ citizens have] a right to nothing which another has a right to take away.โ€ He recognized, “The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground.โ€ America is on the path to government mastership. The further down the path it goes, the less valuable its citizenship.

Long-time citizens grew up believing they had enshrined rights the government could not take away. Unfortunately, citizens must understand that in Americaโ€™s new political disinformation culture, the federal government firmly believes it is authorized to manipulate thinking to take your rights.

Baffled, please understand that life in America is a trade-off. The more the government gives you, the more rights you give up. The federal government has gone into a $35 trillion debt to keep Americans happy. Moreover, it has never asked any living American to pay a single penny of this debt. The feds have an open tab, and they unjustly push the debt incurred by their mismanagement onto future generations who have no voice in the process.

Just relax, Baffled, and stop stressing over change in society. Take comfort in the words of your possible new leader, Kamala Harrisโ€”Americans are โ€œready for a new way forward” and โ€œready to turn the pageโ€ on your outdated beliefs about citizens’ rights to freedom of speech, press, religion, due process, and fair trials and the other gibberish in ancient documents.

The federal government corrupts words, so people believe something other than its true intent. Good examples are found on the U.S. Immigration Service website. It describes, “What are the rights and responsibilities of U.S. Citizenship?” Itโ€™s a clever document that makes people feel good about the benefits of citizenship while opening the Southern border to criminal gangs, drug lords, and sex traffic.

Letโ€™s examine a few of its pronouncements and the actions taken by the government to control citizens.

Americans have the freedom to express themselves. Unfortunately, it is the first right the government must destroy to gain control over citizens. As recently as August 26, 2024, the head of Facebook (“FB”) informed the House Judiciary Committee that the Biden-Harris administration repeatedly pressured FB for months to censor COVID-19 content so the government could control the narrative on the pandemic and the actions of citizens. FB bowed to its coercion by censoring content.

FB also admitted that the FBI had lied to it so FB would not report on the Hunter Biden laptop before the 2020 election. Polls show that had the FBI told Americans the truth about the laptop, 17% of Biden supporters would not have voted for him. Biden would have lost the election.

On Twitter (now X), Elon Musk allowed two investigative reporters to review company files and make public the government’s interference with free speech. The reporters found that the government worked with Twitter executives to suppress right-leaning opinions and “boot then-president Donald Trump from the platform, so he could no longer speak to his 65 million supporters.โ€

The federal government does not view free speech as irrelevant; on the contrary, it views it as threatening the government’s authority over its citizens.

The freedom of religion is the second recognized right of Americans.ย  During COVID-19, the federal government shut down places of worship, asserting it had the power to enforce valid emergency laws. While the need for safety measures was understandable, many citizens viewed the federal government’s actions as an overreach of power. Since the federal government shut down most of society, it viewed the denial of religious freedom as a valid exercise of power, notwithstanding the Constitution. The federal government believes that as long as it regulates everyone, which is its goal, itis acting legally. Citizens should remember that there are 137 Emergency laws that allow a president to be a dictator at the time of their choosing.

Two excellent examples illustrate the biased horror government inflicts on citizens. Five conservative Americans were arrested and convicted of blocking the entrance to an abortion clinic. They are currently in jail and face a possible sentence of 11 years in prison and a $350,000 fine. The second example is a 34-year-old mother who is a member of the North Carolina chapter of Moms for Liberty, a group dedicated to defending their children from โ€œwokeโ€ ideology. The FBI charged her for non-violently entering the Capitol on January 6, 2021 and peacefully remaining in the Capitol for 10-minutes. The FBI waited until 2024 to charge her so it could reintroduce the January 6th events in North Carolina, a swing state, before the election.

All Americans have the right to vote. Voting is the only direct right citizens possess to control their government. Voting and having a fair election in which each citizenโ€™s vote counts are entirely different situations. The powerful in the federal government, like the president and U.S. Attorney General Garland, view voter identification as discriminatory, burdensome, and unnecessary for a fair election. While voting by non-citizens is illegal under current law, itโ€™s impossible to protect a citizenโ€™s vote without requiring proof of citizenship. Without protecting citizens’ votes, their votes are diluted by the votes of the illegal immigrants. If Garland places the entire might and resources of the federal government against any attempt by states to ensure fair elections, the right of American to vote is worthless.

The federal government views citizens as obligated to support and defend the Constitution in accordance with its view of the Constitution. Under current prosecutorial standards, citizens with differing opinions from the federal government, including parents speaking out at school board meetings, are considered terrorists, insurrectionists, or traitors. In 2020, however, the Progressive Left rioted and burned down large sections of twenty major American cities, and very few rioters were arrested. And those few arrested were bailed out of jail by the vice presidentโ€™s bail fund. Overall, during the period between May 25, 2020, and July 31, 2020, 8700 protests occurred across 68 major cities. These riots caused over $2 billion in damages and resulted in the death of twenty-five people.

Contrast these riots by the Left with the January 6th riot at the Capitol in support of Donald Trump. That riot lasted six hours and caused $1.5 million in damage to the Capitol. The riot was deemed an insurrection for political leverage, and more than 1,230 people were charged with felonies ranging from trespassing to seditious conspiracy. Over 700 of the rioters were sentenced to prison for between a few days and 22 years. Hundreds more are still in jail, without due process, awaiting trial. More tragic is that the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia has pledged to indict all 2000 of the entrants before the statute of limitations expires. Contrast his reign of terror on the peaceful occupants of the Capitol with the fact that the U.S. Attorney prosecuted only one Hamas terrorist despite the many vicious attacks made on local police by Hamas.

The most egregious act of political manipulation comes from President Biden and the Department of Homeland Security. Their primary constitutional duty is to execute the laws of the nation. Yet, the president and Secretary of Homeland Security refuse to enforce immigration laws by inviting the world to enter in violation of federal law and stay at our expense, estimated to be $151 billion annually for public education, health care, food, shelter, and transportation.

As you can see, Baffled, words matter! Words are the primary way we describe our world. Words can persuade, inspire, hurt, or even deceive. In the political world, however, the government uses words to hide the true intent of its actions.

The dialogue in Alice in Wonderland perfectly captures the federal governmentโ€™s use of words.

โ€œWhen I use a word,โ€ Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, it means just what I choose it to mean โ€“neither more nor less.โ€

โ€œThe question is,โ€ said Alice, โ€œwhether you can make words mean so many different things.โ€

โ€œThe question is,โ€ said Humpty Dumpty, โ€œwhich is to be the master โ€“thatโ€™s all.โ€

The only relevant question when evaluating the rights of citizenship is โ€“ who is the master? The Constitution is merely a piece of paper with value only when those charged with its protection honor and implement its intent. When words used by the government mean only what the government chooses the words to mean, the government is the master. President Biden has warned Americans several times and in similar language about challenging the government – โ€œIf you wanted or if you think you need to have weapons to take on the government, you [will] need F-15s and maybe some nuclear weapons? Biden has informed all Americans the federal government will useย force, if necessary, to impose its will on Americans who believe they have constitutional rights.

Hopefully, I have given you advice that is worthy of consideration. Best wishes on your search to determine your constitutional rights under the current federal rule.

George
